
The Ubuntu Hearts Project provides meaningful support to struggling children, families, and elders in South Africa through annual acts of generosity that foster enduring relationships between communities in South Africa and the United States. By embodying the philosophy of Ubuntu, the project reminds participants that humanity is strengthened when we care for one another.
In July 2025, in Cape Town, South Africa, the project presented 40 students with brand-new school shoes.
In December 2025, in Cape Town, South Africa, funds collected from friends, family, and allies totaled $3,000 USD, which provided 1,200 holiday hampers with school supplies, socks, books, and soccer balls to children who had never received a holiday gift. Two scholarships for graduating students, a special breakfast, and gifts to honor elder storytellers.
